What styles of DANCE do we teach?
Our Red Deer studio offers a variety of different dance styles including:

OUR STORY
Formerly Dance Traxx Studio in Red Deer, Alberta and purchased in 2011, (Miss) Meagan McGratten decided to give new life and rebrand to make the studio truly her own and in 2016 Make Your Mark Dance (MYMD) officially came to life. Inspired by the Saskatoon studio she danced and grew up in, Meagan set out to develop and create a family studio that was welcoming to all dancers and a home away from home.
Top 5 Things a Dance Studio Should Have
Qualified and Caring Instructors
Great teachers make all the difference. Look for instructors who are not only certified and experienced, but also genuinely care about each dancer’s growth—on and off the stage.
A Positive, Inclusive Environment
A dance studio should be a place where all kids feel safe, supported, and inspired. Confidence, friendships, and fun should be just as important as the choreography.
Structured Programs That Support Progress
Whether your child dances for fun or dreams of going pro, a great studio offers clear pathways—from beginner to advanced—with age-appropriate goals and strong technical foundations. Classes should include proper dance terminology so dancers understand the language of their art form, not just the steps.
Performance and Learning Opportunities
Dancers thrive when they have the chance to shine. Studios should offer low-pressure performance experiences, optional competitions, and enrichment opportunities like workshops and guest teachers.
Clear Communication and Strong Community
You deserve to know what’s going on. A great studio keeps families informed and involved, building a strong sense of connection between staff, dancers, and parents.

Miss Meagan was an integral part of my development as a dancer. She encouraged me to never give up, challenged me technically, and supported me as I developed my own style. She is a warm and wonderful person to know, and her presence brightened the studio every day. I will never forget the lessons she taught me or the impact they had on both my dancing and personal development.”
